Request a Password Reset
If you are unable to log in to your account, please check the following before concluding
that you've forgotten your password:
- Check our Service Status (follow link from Prairienet homepage) to see if there
is a general login problem or service outage affecting all users.
- Make sure you are typing your login and password in all lower-case.
Passwords are case-sensitive.
- Pre-2004 Web Hosting accounts uniformly start with xx---, e.g. xx066. This,
and not the name used for your email address, is your login.
- If you are having trouble logging into a particular service such as SFTP or SSH,
try logging into your account's
Webmail.
If the verdict is in and you really have forgotten your password,
you please call Prairienet Member Services during office hours
(
Wednesday & Thursday, 1:30-4:30pm
) to request a password reset. Because passwords are encrypted
on the system, no one, even the systems administrator,
can retrieve a lost password.
Member Services will need to verify your identity, so please be prepared to provide
additional identifying information about your account.
